Aerospace
Technifab provides product solutions for this market using foams with varying densities and flame retardant properties as well as foams that are conductive or static dissipative. Our engineers can match the right materials with your aerospace application.
A leading-edge product in this market is a lightweight, closed-cell PVDF (Polyvinylidene fluoride based on Kynar® fluoropolymer) foam, Zotek F manufactured by Zotefoams, PLC®.
This material affords Technifab the ability to make products that are
light in weight and meet
FAR 25.856 (a) Appendix F Part VI Radiant Panel Flammability Test -- with no additional materials added. This material has unique properties in that it can be Thermoformed and Thermally Bonded to itself. Technifab's first application for this material was to provide insulation for chilling (cooling) system tubing (piping). Other products solutions involve replacing heavier materials such as silicone rubber and composites. Simple product solutions that also allow for
easier, lower cost installation!
Technifab is an approved supplier to many of the manufacturers in this market. Product solutions include insulation, gaskets, fillers, and components of environmental control systems. Technifab's engineers go above and beyond with our molded and fabricated foam solutions.
Automotive
Foams of varying densities, chemistries, and physical properties are used to create lightweight performance solutions for gaskets, seals, and barriers in automotive applications. Inherently low in water absorption, these foams make excellent barriers for moisture vapor transmission. Additional properties of thermal insulation, shock absorption, and sound dampening create multiple product opportunities in this market. Technifab also produces packaging and dunnage solutions for protection of Class-A surfaces during transport.
Sports & Leisure
Technifab makes products that serve the hockey, exercise, equine, amusement park, and DIY markets: high density, lightweight foams for hockey pads and yoga blocks; varying density combinations for flooring underlayment in exercise, martial arts, and dance studios; padding for under horse saddles; lightweight components for amusement park and mascot character costumes; and knee pads for the do-it-yourselfer are just a sampling of the solutions Technifab offers.
Medical
Foams in medical applications are typically used for podiatric and orthopedic product solutions, medical diagnostic equipment and wheelchair components.
Packaging
Foam products used in packaging can be expendable or returnable and cross over into all markets. Protection of electronic products, case and carton inserts, foam pouches, medical packaging, slotted rails to protect Class-A surfaces in automotive, or combined with plastic corrugated materials to make divider sets, packs, and other dunnage solutions.
