A leading-edge product in this market is a lightweight, closed-cell PVDF (Polyvinylidene fluoride based on Kynar® fluoropolymer) foam, Zotek F manufactured by Zotefoams, PLC®.
This material affords Technifab the ability to make products that are light in weight and meet FAR 25.856 (a) Appendix F Part VI Radiant Panel Flammability Test -- with no additional materials added. This material has unique properties in that it can be Thermoformed and Thermally Bonded to itself. Technifab's first application for this material was to provide insulation for chilling (cooling) system tubing (piping). Other products solutions involve replacing heavier materials such as silicone rubber and composites. Simple product solutions that also allow for easier, lower cost installation!
